Carriers who operate in the US are invited to throw their support behind the interim rule, which retains the 11-hour driving day and 34-hour restart provisions. The association has posted documents on its Web site www.truckline.com which carriers can use as templates to have their voices heard.

A model letter and a supplemental guide are posted to help carriers prepare their response.

The Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA) issued its interim final rule Dec. 17, 2007.

Comments must be filed with FMCSA no later than Feb. 15, 2008.
