NBC has bought the History Channel hit docu-series “Ice Road Truckers” from Original Productions. According to news reports, the deal includes at least a 10-episode order for the show and a commitment for a shot at a primetime programming block.

Truckers'' became an out-of-left-field hit for the History Channel earlier this year, drawing an average audience of more than 3 million viewers. The finale scored close to 5 million viewers.
