Transport America to Honor Drivers With Summer Celebrations

Eagan, Minn. -- Transport America is making plans to honor its drivers during the last week of July with food, fun and visits with staff.

While there is an American Trucking Association-sponsored Driver Appreciation Week scheduled for November 1-7, 2009, Transport America hopes to take advantage of good weather in planning outdoor activites in July.
“Holding our Driver Appreciation week in the summer will allow for outdoor barbecues and ample time, in off-season, to thank our drivers for their contributions to our success,” says Mikki Chadwick, Transport America Human Resources Director. “It’s a great time for all of us to catch up with our drivers and express our thanks for their service to the company.”
Transport America’s driver managers and executives will be visiting nine of their busiest Terminals or Support Centers during the week to spend time with, and personally thank, the company’s professional drivers for all they do.
“Our drivers are the best in the business,” says Keith Klein, Transport America Executive VP & Chief Operating Officer. “Their safety records, personalized service, and conscientious execution in delivering products to our customers sets Transport America apart from our competition. We are very proud to have each of them on our team and are glad to have this opportunity to show it.”
Each facility will host meals, give away prizes, and provide an open forum for drivers to communicate with management while having a little fun as well.
