Mobile Health Unit Driver | Fleet Coordinator

We seek candidates with a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds. Operate, maintain, and safely drive Community Health Programs mobile health units to outreach sites within a multi-county region, complying with federal, state, and local laws. Must have excellent customer service, organizational, written and verbal communication, and time management skills. Typing skills are required along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Must be able to interact professionally with staff, patients, and community partners.

1. Review and plan routes in advance of Heritage Community Clinic community outreach health clinics. Operate mobile unit in a safe manner which complies with federal, state, and local laws. Ensure safety during events, including safe entry, parking, and exit of the mobile unit. Ensure completion of mobile health unit task checklist at all clinics and events. Communicate with appropriate clinical staff via e-mail to share information related to clinic schedules and travel.

2. Perform setup of Community Health Programs mobile health units at scheduled locations. This includes completion of the mobile health unit task checklist at all clinics and events (pre- and post-trip), setup of the truck, cleaning, emptying trash and biohazard waste, monitoring parking and storage environment of mobile health units.

3. Assist patients/visitors with safe entry and exit on the mobile unit. Assist with administrative support and operations of clinic as warranted, including but not limited to greeting and registering patients, filing, assisting patients with form completion, making copies, and other duties as assigned.

4. Maintain accurate written and electronic records of mobile health unit mileage and clinic locations, pre- and post-trip forms, daily vehicle usage log, AED safety log, fire extinguisher logs, and maintenance logs. Maintain all DOT and vehicle logs as required by law and all company documents.

5. Ensure that mobile health units are always clean and sanitized per medical guidelines and ready for clinics, including scheduling maintenance and repair of mobile units, AED safety check, fire extinguisher safety check, filling water tanks, and emptying septic tanks.

6. Work with RN coordinators/online clinic calendar to create mobile health unit schedule and verify accuracy

7. Ensure that all mobile health unit data is entered the day of the trip

8. Order and stock all non-medical mobile unit supplies

9. Maintain timely communications with Community Health Programs Assistant Director

10. Coordinate mobile unit schedule with additional drivers as needed

11. Represent the Heritage College, the Heritage Community Clinic, and Community Health Programs in the community

12. Work collaboratively with Ohio University Transportation to schedule appropriate maintenance, washing, etc.

13. Ensure monthly data reports are completed monthly and input in CHP data tracking sheet

14. Troubleshoot operational issues of the mobile units and contact LifeLine Mobile related to issues and/or concerns related to mechanical problems to ensure timely maintenance is addressed as warranted

15. Daily works as a team member of AHEC/CHP including attending staff meetings and other departmental projects or activities as warranted.

General Position Summary:

Minimum Qualifications:

Familiarity with medical or clinical environment required. Knowledge of standard environmental safety and security policies, procedures, services, tools, and/or equipment in a field of specialization, knowledge of standard administrative procedures and practices, office equipment, and computer software typically obtained by a high school degree or GED or equivalent and 3-5 years related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable. Valid Ohio driver’s license, CDL with minimum Class B air brake certification required. BLS certification preferred Specific knowledge, certifications, and licensure will apply at the position level.
