Airstream Bus Driver (Part Time)
The Brooklyn Museum seeks a reliable and enthusiastic Airstream Bus Driver to support the Community Engagement and Partnerships team with the Museum on Wheel’s initiative. This role will be responsible for the safe and efficient vehicle transportation of the mobile Airstream unit to various locations across the Brooklyn area. It represents a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic mobile project that brings art and culture to the community.

Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience as a commercial vehicle driver or equivalent experience preferred.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last five years.
• Knowledge of vehicle transit routes in Brooklyn is strongly preferred.
• Ability to carry out assigned route on time and in varying weather conditions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members.
• Commitment to the Museum’s vision of art as a catalyst for a connected, civic, and empathetic world.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by program schedule.
• Experience with a mobile airstream, museums, art and culture is a plus.
Responsibilities:
• Safely operate and drive the Museum’s 4x4 Ford Truck with the Airstream mobile unit to designated locations in accordance with all traffic and safety regulations, in a timely manner, and in varying weather conditions.
• Ensure the security and safety of the Airstream mobile unit and its contents during transportation.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of the Airstream mobile unit at each location, including handling delicate items with care.
• Provide ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) access to the Airstream mobile unit to visitors with complex mobility needs.
• Interact with visitors and provide information about the Airstream mobile unit and the Museum on Wheels initiative.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the Airstream bus inside and out and ensure it is mechanically sound.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance and inspections pre and post-trip to ensure safe operation.
• Observe both institutional and departmental policies and protocols.

Salary: $40/hour, up to 60 hours /month
Schedule (seasonal) Museum on Wheels programs will occur seasonally from September 2024 to October 2024 and March 2025 to October 2025. The day of responsibilities will occur between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
