Melton Truck Lines, a 2021 Military Friendly® Employer, conducted a driver wide survey which found an increase in tarp pay would be the most meaningful pay increase. This new tarp pay will take effect on February 2nd, 2021, and will impact their existing and future drivers.
Vice President of Safety and Human Resources, Lisa Mason, said, “We are excited to announce this pay increase because our drivers deserve it! Tarping is the most strenuous part of our job, and we want our drivers to be rewarded for it. This tarp pay increase is in response to the many surveys we’ve seen and driver conversations saying a tarp pay increase would be the most meaningful pay increase. There is not another carrier out there that rewards their drivers with this amount of money for tarping, and it’s because of our driver’s efforts that allow this significant change to happen.”
Over the last 67 years in business, Melton Truck Lines has a proven track record as an industry leader in pay. After doubling their tarp pay to $100 per load, this increased compensation translates to an additional $10,000 or more annually for all drivers, new or experienced.
Founded in 1954, Melton Truck Lines has grown to be a premier flatbed company, employing over 1,350 of the best professional drivers available. The company continues to convey an attitude and feeling of family. The gleaming fleet of new, blue Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks proudly serves customers from coast-to-coast and strives to remain ahead of the competition with top-notch drivers, customer service, and safety programs as well as state-of-the-art equipment and communications techniques.

Roehl Transport will increase truck driver pay for a second time this year. These increases will add between $4,000 - $6,000 or more to most company drivers’ annual pay. The pay increases will be effective May 24th and apply to company drivers in Roehl’s Refrigerated, Flatbed, Van, Curtainside, and Dedicated Divisions.
“Because we’ve been adding driving teammates and winning new lanes from customers, we’re able increase our driving teammates’ pay,” said CEO Rick Roehl. “Our drivers are leaders in pay, productivity and safety, and our second increase in compensation reflects our commitment to Driver Success.”

The company employs experienced truck drivers and offers paid CDL training for people who want to be truck drivers with a variety of fleet and home time options such as national, regional and dedicated positions. More than half of Roehl drivers are home at least every week. The company also offers a lease purchase program for those who want to own their own trucking business.

National Carriers, Inc. has named Mindy Parson as May Driver of the Month and Derius Jordan as June Driver of the Month.
Irving, TX, For Immediate Release - National Carriers, Inc. has named Mindy Parson as May Driver of the Month and Derius Jordan as June Driver of the Month. Both have received a one thousand dollar bonus and are now eligible to be named 2022 Driver of the Year. The Driver of the Year will receive an additional ten thousand dollar bonus.
Director of Media, Ed Kentner expounded, “Both Mindy and Derius perform their job at a high level. Putting the motoring public’s safety first, each has achieved our highest rating in customer service. It is work ethic such as this that allows our company to live up to the name the ‘Elite’ fleet.”
After eleven years as an administrative assistant in an auto part manufacturing plant, Parson was a victim of corporate downsizing. As a single parent of grown children, she felt the call to do something completely different in the workforce. The state of Tennessee offered grants for displaced workers, one of which provided for Class A CDL training. With the desire to explore the country combined with the thought of solitude without a boss looking over her shoulder, she eagerly enrolled. Once she completed her schooling, she combed through online advertising to find the right trucking company for her.
“I chose National Carriers, because they offered paid training and it felt like they had a family-oriented workplace. Once I was trained, I got my own truck and traveled the country. Over time a dedicated route near my home became available and I signed up for it. I drive six to seven days a week regionally. I am very happy with my work situation,” shared Parson.
Derius Jordan also joined National Carriers as a trainee. A friend had recommended that he call National Carriers and apply.
“NCI was the first company I called. Recruiter Dena Moore immediately made me feel comfortable. My trainer taught me the ins and outs of the business during our time together. After operating a company truck for several months my driver manager helped me get into the truck leasing program. The lease is great. I stay out four to six weeks at a time. While working here I have found that everyone talks to everyone and you can speak to the management if you have a problem. No one bothers me if I don’t bother them,” he explained.

Bay & Bay Transportation just gave drivers a great reason to both join the company and stay for the long haul.
Company leadership recently announced a driver pay increase effective December 7th that will provide great reward to both current and new drivers to Bay & Bay. Experienced drivers joining the carrier will now start at up to 0.58 cents/mile, while existing company drivers’ pay has been increased by 0.04 cents/mile across the fleet. Bay & Bay also has one of the top sign and drive lease to own opportunities in trucking! Lease drivers start at 70% of the revenue on the load and new/late model equipment is available (lease trucks are governed at 75 MPH).
In addition to the higher pay per mile, Bay & Bay is offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus for all company drivers joining its fleet.*
“Our drivers are the heartbeat of our organization,” said Sam Anderson, President and CEO. “We have seen over the past months how important our drivers are to keeping America open for business. It’s critical to offer a compensation package that makes this a career, not just a job.”
Known for its culture of strong values and safe working environment, Bay & Bay invites local and OTR drivers to become part of a 79-year tradition of excellence.
“Pay is just one piece of what we have to offer at Bay & Bay,” said Michael Blair, Driver Recruitment Manager. “Drivers also enjoy our state-of-the art facilities, modern equipment, and family culture. We can get you home and help make sure your family comes first.”
Bay & Bay’s respect for drivers shows up in their safety conscious culture, which led the Truckload Carriers Association to recognize Bay & Bay as the Safest Fleet by the for Division IV (25–49.99 million miles). Bay & Bay’s level of safety remains the gold standard in trucking.
Not only is the government (partially) shut down, but now a caravan of truck drivers is looking to shut down traffic around Washington, D.C. -- as part of a bizarre protest against things that are "destroying America."
The group, Truckers Ride for the Constitution, is trying to attract participants for a demonstration on the Capital Beltway starting this Friday.
"Truck drivers will not haul freight! ... Truckers will lead the path to saving our country if every American rides with them!" the group's Facebook page, which had more than 57,000 "likes" as of Tuesday morning, declares.
The truckers reportedly plan to clog the Beltway by driving "three lanes deep" for three days.
So just what do they want?
Their list of grievances is apparently quite long.
According to a report in The Hill, the drivers are complaining about wages, gas prices and federal regulations on their industry. They're also not too chuffed about the debt or the National Security Agency's surveillance practices.
Earl Conlon, who claimed to speak for the group despite other truckers later challenging him, also told U.S. News & World Report that they seek the arrest of members of Congress who have "violated their oath of office."
"We want these people arrested, and we're coming in with the grand jury to do it," he said.
Conlon, though, said the drivers' beef has to do with support for arming Al Qaeda-tied members of the Syrian opposition.
And good luck to anyone trying to pass the protesting truck drivers. Conlon said commuters who want to pass must have a sticker on their window supporting the group.
"It's going to be real fun for anyone who is not a supporter," Conlon told U.S. News & World Report. "If cops decide to give us a hard time, we're going to lock the brakes up, we're going to stop right there, we're going to be a three lane roadblock."
But trucker Greg Ellis, a supporter of the campaign, said Conlon does not speak for them and disputed the claim that anybody would try to arrest officials.
"Nobody is going to try to effect an arrest on congressmen or anything like that," he told FoxNews.com, describing the plans as "peaceful."
The Facebook page for the group, after the article was published, said Conlon "has no authority" to speak on behalf of RideForTheConstitution.org. Without specifying, the statement said the organization did not want to be associated "with anything that is unlawful."
Asked to clarify the purpose of the event, spokesman Peter Santilli told FoxNews.com on Tuesday: "One of our demands is NON-NEGOTIABLE: President Obama must be removed from office for crimes against the United States and all unconstitutional executive orders nullified. How that is accomplished legally is for the legal and constitutional experts to determine."
